Still not smoking (well, tobacco anyway)

It's Memorial Day Weekend, which means it's the anniversary of my retirement from the world of nicotine addiction. That was in 2001, so it's been 13 years. Lucky number! I've still got more vices than are good for me, but it's good to remind myself that I kicked one of the deadlier ones. Maybe I'll walk around Green Lake to celebrate. (*Not* to procrastinate from the article I was supposed to finish a month ago.)

Here's to life, by grab.

Congratulations! I just celebrated 15 years nicotine-free (since May 1, 1999), which means that on June 1 I'll be celebrating 15 years seizure free. (On June 1, 1999, I was out talking with the mailman, had a seizure, lost consciousness, and spent the next 3 days in the ICU with widely varying levels of consciousness. I'd never had a seizure before, and I've never had one since. The doctors never were able to explain what happened.)

But as I was saying, before I went so widely off-topic: Congratulations! This is a huge accomplishment. Enjoy your walk!

Congratulations! Thankfully I've been able to use all these years to concentrate on women and gambling.
