Toothache, my eye

So I've had a painful tooth (a molar) for the past three days, and I went to my dentist today. It was the same tooth that I chipped recently (actually I chipped the crown), but it ended up that my self-diagnosis was a bit off. The good news is that it wasn't an infected tooth, which was the self-diagnosis. It was an inflamed gum. The cause wasn't evident. Perhaps something had gotten lodged in a gap and then disappeared. Whatever it was/is, I'm feeling pretty wiped out and have taken some ibuprofen and slept a lot. Amazing how much these little problems in the mouth can take it out of me! With any luck, I'm now on the mend. Not sure yet whether I'll feel up to going to the Clarion West party tonight, which had been my intention.

Thanks! I'm reading Leigh Brackett to see if that helps.

Yup, gum infections can be as debilitating as nerve infections. And some of these mouth diseases, including one that results in developing many cavities at a young age, currently, as I understand it, are suspected of also resulting in arterial infections that form cholesterol-based plaques that often result in blocked coronary arteries and heart-attacks.

Good luck.

Well, there's a happy thought! My dad was having all kinds of problems when he was suffering gum infections a couple of years ago.

It's rather strange but an undisputed fact that problems with teeth and gums can contribute to problems in other parts of the body. I suspect most of us don't properly understand how our bodies are wired together.
